One day you may wake up and realize that you are an entrepreneur or about to become an entrepreneur. It may be hard to believe that you are actually starting a business. Online or on the street you are taking a huge leap into a new life for yourself and your family. This is when you should predict your future.

As you plan your new company, try and imagine how your life may change. You will be working many different hours and you will have no one to help you when you fly without a net.You should bring your family together and discuss your future plans and make sure that everyone understands that there will be changes in your lives.

Some family members may be on board and willing to sacrifice for the cause. It is amazing how many family and close friends will not want to support you and some may wish for your failure. This is normal and you should never blame anyone for their feelings. You must respect them from the start but they must also respect you and your plans.

The money doesn’t come right on day one, it takes time and invenstment. The best plans must be flexible and flow with your needs and objectives. Each week re-establish your top priorities and reset the short term goals. Using my 1-2-3 of Short Term Goals method you will be able to move any project along as if you have an MBA.

It is important to identify the most critical tasks that must be accomplished first in order to reach your goals. Follow this thought all the way through. First, you must adopt the entrepreneurs’ mission statement which is that you want to be surrounded by money. You have a business concept that has certain parameters, rules and limits by which you must operate. Like being in the MATRIX, there are rules that you and your competitors must observe like being in the MATRIX, there are rules that you and your competitors must observe.

That being said, what will you do first? The first objetive of your 1-2-3′s of short term goals should be an operational item that must be completed in order to be successful, like making your website functional for example. If this item is not completed  in one week, it must remain on the list of short term goals.

The second goal should include a sales goal and all efforts should be made to have someone pay you for your product or service. Money must be exchanged for your goods or you will be in business, only not successful. There must be a timeframe that you must allow yourself to go without sales. It may take you a year or more so be prepared and do not give up your regular job just yet.

Finally, the last and most important goal is always the same, to find another client or customer. Each week you should strategize about how you will build your business. Never stop looking for another customer or outlet for revenue. Never forget to look for another source of revenue or new customer. The world is a competitive place so keep on top of your business with the 1-2-3s of short term goals and you will be a successful entrepreneur.
