small business accounting software

I make at least eight videos like the one above a week that I either sell or giveaway to help business owners and their teams get the best out of my low cost alternative to small business accounting software such as Quickbooks or Peachtree or Sage (the video above took me one hour to make). I am going to walk you through a very straight forward method that will show you how to turn your knowledge into valuable content and sell it through the internet to a world wide audience. You should build your own product as it will build your confidence and skills and give you a much higher return on your efforts as all of the margin is yours and even better still you will be able to understand what makes your customers buy and build it into your next product and sell more.

A significant percentage of the human race now understands how to watch videos on YouTube and use iTunes, the iPod and even the iPhone and it is here I begin my explanation of how to leverage these popular technology platforms to sell your knowledge. I love these video distribution platforms as they really have helped me sell and build a reputation for my low cost alternative to conventional small business accounting software such as Quickbooks or Peachtree.

To do this properly you have to begin with the end in mind so you need to think carefully about what you are going to share with your target audience and for this you need to create what I call a storyboard. I use two techniques to create the storyboard for my video, slide making software such as Microsoft powerpoint or Apple’s Keynote or a mind mapping program such as Mindmeister or Bubbl (these can both be found by entering the name into Google search. In case you are wondering how much this is going to cost I should say that you can create your storyboard, produce your video and get it to your target market without spending any money what so ever.

To create your videos I recommend a really good program called Camtasia studio from a company called TechSmith, it will enable you to produce high quality videos for YouTube, Podcasts and download to your customers computer in either QuickTime or Windows media format (don’t download the trial yet, just watch all of the tutorials). As I said don’t download the Camtasia software yet as you want to maximise your use of the thirty day trial to get your idea fleshed out and be familiar with the tools.

Now you know what tools you need to create your videos and in the next few days I will be publishing to this blog (owners permitting) another and much more detailed lesson on storyboard creation using how I created and distributed my small business accounting software videos as real life examples of what is possible.
